Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Japan
The German ambassador represents the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, and as such, he is the highest representative of Germany in Japan. He heads the embassy and coordinates the representation of German interests in the host country.
His tasks include promoting and expanding bilateral relations between Japan and Germany in all areas. To this end, he keeps close contact with the Japanese government, the Diet and leading personalities from politics, economy, science, media, and culture.
Furthermore, his responsibilities include supporting the interests of the German economy, promoting German cultural activities in Japan, as well as assisting high and highest ranking visitors from Germany.
