Special Prize for Prof. Christian Drosten
The DFG and Stifterverband are awarding a one-time prize for outstanding science communication during the Covid-19 pandemic. This award, carrying prize money of €50,000, recognises virologist Professor Dr. Christian Drosten from the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin for “exceptional contributions to science and society in the face of a dramatic developing pandemic”.

On June 10, the Federal Government adopted a National Hydrogen Strategy for Germany. Hydrogen is key for decarbonising key German sectors such as the steel and chemical industries and the transport sector. Furthermore, hydrogen technologies have the potential to become a key field of business for German exporters.

Seibold Prize 2020
In 2020, the German Research Foundation (DFG) will honour four researchers with the Eugen and Ilse Seibold Prize. Two women and two men are to receive the €15,000 award. Through years of dedication, they have successfully contributed to both academic and cultural exchange between Germany and Japan.
