Research Explorer Ruhr

Benefit from workshops on postdoc funding schemes and research career options in Germany! Networking events and excursions will help participants become acquainted with the thriving Ruhr Area as a potential place to work and live.

The professors offer to host one guest at their institute. During this time, participants can work out cooperation opportunities, research compatibility and possibilities to come back as a postdoc with their own funding.

Research Academy Ruhr funds the stay of the participants (travel, visa, accommodation) and will offer a program of workshops on funding options and cultural activities to round off the experience.

• Participating Institutions: Ruhr-Universität Bochum, University of Duisburg-Essen, and TU Dortmund University.
• Target Group: Advanced doctoral candidates and early postdocs up to 1 year after doctorate.
• Date: June 18 to July 1, 2023
• Success Stories: Participants returned with funding from (amongst others) Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, DAAD, Euraxess, or were offered regular job contracts.
• Application process: Apply to one of the displayed host profiles or hand in an unsolicited application to a PI of your choice.
