Promoting Gender Equality in Academic Appointments

© DWIH Tokyo

Achieving gender balance in academic appointments is essential for fostering inclusivity and diverse perspectives in research and education, which in turn drives research and innovation in both Japan and Germany. The roundtable discussion on “Promoting Gender Equality in Academic Appointments,” to be held at the Dokkyo University Community Square on November 22, 2024, will bring together leaders from Japanese and German universities and German intermediary institutions to address the critical issue of gender equality in academic positions. By exploring ways to enhance equal opportunities in professorships, the discussion aims to inspire a more balanced and forward-thinking academic landscape. The event includes a catered lunch, offering additional opportunities for networking and deeper dialogue.
