EURAXESS Japan Shinkansen Roadshow: Bavaria - Saitama

The EURAXESS Japan ShinkansenRoadshow is a webinar series that focuses on EU-Japan cooperative partnerships. It aims to provide researchers, businesses, research institutions as well as the public with new opportunities and inspiration for EU-Japan collaboration. This webinar showcases the flourishing cooperation between Bavaria (Germany) and Saitama (Japan) as a prime example of EU-Japan cluster-to-cluster collaboration.

The industrial partnership between Bavaria and Saitama started in 2011 through the JETRO’s Regional Industry Tie-up Project. Since then, both regions have been promoting business exchanges and establishing cluster-to-cluster partnerships by signing MoUs between Saitama and two industrial clusters in Bavaria. With this foundation in place, their cooperation has expanded from business matching and technology exchange to joint training for human resource development and industry-academia collaboration projects. Furthermore, their cooperation now encompasses the industrial application of artificial intelligence and environment, alongside their original thematic focuses on mechatronics and medical equipment.

This webinar will explore how their collaboration across industrial clusters has led to synergistic benefits for both regions and find out how they plan to develop their collaboration in the future, as there is an increasing demand and interest in creating innovation through new technologies and startups promotion.
